How to hide sensitive information in a PDF before sending it
Before sending a bank statement, ID copy or contract, you may need to hide some details. Drawing a black box in an ordinary editor isn’t enough: the text stays underneath and can be copied. Steps
- Open the Redact PDF tool and choose your file.
- Add a black box over each detail and resize it to cover it fully.
- Go through the pages, cover the detail wherever it appears, then save.
Tips
- Check every page: the same detail may repeat in headers or footers.
- Make the box a little larger than the text so no letter edges show.
- Open the result and try selecting the hidden text to confirm it’s gone.
